With the NBA regular season winding down it is time to put out my All-NBA teams. Remember, these are positionless and players need to have played at least 20+ minutes in 65 games to be eligible. Please note that if a player had not played 65 games at the time of this publishing I did not put them on my ballot so players like Kevin Durant, Jalen Brunson and Jaylen Brown who could make it will not be featured.
First Team
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
A lock for first team All-NBA, I think Shai takes the MVP as well. Averaging 32.6 points, 6.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game this season, there is not much more to say. The numbers are incredible and he is the best player on the best team.
Nikola Jokic
Jokic might be having the best season of his career. A 60 point triple-double and a 30-20-20 game, his averages of 30.0 points, 12.8 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game speak for itself. Simply incredible.
Jayson Tatum
Tatum is having the best season of his career. Averaging 26.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and a career high 6.0 assists per game. Tatum has taken his game to another level this season. His passing is incredible to go along with the scoring, defense and rebounding, Tatum is one of the 5 best players in the league.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Antetokounmpo is having another elite season. The Bucks are not good because their roster stinks, that has nothing to do with how great Giannis has been this season and a healthy Antetokounmpo is scary in a first round series.
Donovan Mitchell
Mitchell’s numbers are down all-around but he has been the best player on one of the two best teams in the league all season. The fifth spot on the first team has been debated but, to me, Mitchell should get it.
Second Team
Anthony Edwards
I still can’t believe Ant was not an All-Star starter. He has had the best season of his career, he is taking and making more threes, his defense has been good and his passing and rebounding have been steller. Edwards has to have first team consideration.
Stephen Curry
The Jimmy Butler trade has reinvigorated Curry in a way that makes the Warriors scary in the west. Curry has had an awesome season, averaging 24.4 points, 6.1 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. Golden State has turned around their season and Steph Curry is starting to look like Steph Curry again.
LeBron James
What Butler has done for Steph, Luka Doncic has done for LeBron James. The Lakers look for real, their shooting has been great and when you have those 2 guys on the floor, not to mention Austin Reaves, who has been awesome, you are always going to have a shot.
Evan Mobley
Mobley may very well win the Defensive Player of the Year award. Averaging 18.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, Mobley has leveled up in a major way this season for Cleveland and his improvement is a huge part of Cleveland’s title chances.
Jaren Jackson Jr.
Jaren Jackson Jr. is just awesome. Averaging 22.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, Jackson has struggled rebounding the ball but his scoring and defense are a huge reason why Memphis has been able to hang around in the west this season because Ja Morant hasn’t been himself.
Third Team
Tyrese Haliburton
Since the All-Star break, Tyrese Haliburton has been awesome averaging 20.4 points, 11.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game. His level has risen since the All-Star break, averaging 18.5 points and 9.3 assists per game this season, he cracks my All-NBA list.
Karl-Anthony Towns
KAT has been awesome in his first season as a Knick. Averaging 24.3 points and 12.8 rebounds per game, going back to the 5 has opened up Towns’ numbers in a big way and he has kept the Knicks in the 3 seed since Jalen Brunson sprained his ankle.
Cade Cunningham
Cunningham’s huge season is why the Pistons are going to the playoffs and even skipping the play-in to do so. Averaging career highs in points, at 25.9 per game, and assists, 9.1 per game, Cunningham has a real case for Most Improved Player as well.
Devin Booker
I couldn’t have 2 Suns on this list but with Kevin Durant not yet meeting the threshold, it opened up a spot for Booker. Phoenix’s disaster hasn’t prevented Booker from having an awesome season, averaging 25.9 points, 7.0 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game, Booker continues to be a bright spot for the Suns.
James Harden
Harden gets my last All-NBA spot. Averaging 22.5 points, 8.6 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game, Harden is the main reason the Clippers were able to hold serve until they got Kawhi Leonard back and since that point, they have taken off, winning 14 of their last 17 games.
