With the regular season winding down we have begun to approach awards season and one part of awards season is All-NBA Teams. So today I will give you my 3 All-NBA Teams.
All-NBA First Team
G: Ja Morant
Morant has had an excellent season, averaging 27.6 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.7 rebounds while leading the Grizz to the second best record in the West. Morant has taken a huge leap this season and while his teammates have to, Morant is the best player and deserving of an All-NBA spot.
G: Luka Doncic
Doncic was not an All-Star starter, since then he has played arguably the best basketball of his career. In 20 games since Dallas traded Kristaps Porzingis, Doncic has averaged 32.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 7.5 assists, while the Mavericks are 16-6 since the trade and have ascended to 3rd in the West.
F: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Antetokounmpo is having another monster year. The reigning Finals MVP is averaging a career high (more than his 2 MVP seasons) at 30.1 points per game while also averaging 11.6 rebounds, and 5.8 assists. The Bucks are in 2nd in the East currently, though that can change at any moment, and Antetokounmpo is having yet another MVP caliber season.
F: Nikola Jokic
Jokic is my vote for MVP. Yes, he plays center but the NBA is allowing you to put him or Embiid at forward so that is what I am doing. Jokic has had another huge season averaging 26.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 8.0 assists while keeping the Nuggets above water. Without the team's second and third best players Jokic has had an arguably better season than last season when he won MVP.
C: Joel Embiid
Embiid has had a monster season, 30.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, and he has remained healthy. Having a huge season, Embiid has led the Sixers to one of the best records in the East while Ben Simmons was refusing to play and James Harden was acquired mid-season.
All-NBA Second Team
G: Steph Curry
Curry was having a MVP until about the Calendar turned to 2022 and Draymond Green got hurt and as soon as Green returned and Steph himself got hurt. However, averaging 25.5 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.2 rebounds per game Curry is definitely worthy of All-NBA 2nd team.
G: Trae Young
The Hawks have had a disappointing but Young is having a huge year. Averaging 28.2 points and 9.6 assists per game this season. Even with the Hawks disappointment Young still finds himself on an All-NBA team.
F: Jayson Tatum
Tatum had a rough start to the season but since the All-Star break he has been on a tear. Since February 24th, Tatum is averaging 31.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game on shooting splits of .51/.42/.90. He has been dominant and the Celtics have been dominant.
F: Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant has put together another monster season and if it were not for a 20 game absence due to an injury Durant would likely be a MVP candidate. Averaging 29.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists on the seasons KD is playing like the sniper he is when healthy.
C: Karl-Anthony Towns
KAT is having a huge season and is leading the Wolves to the 7th seed, the highest seed they have been in his career. Averaging 24.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, Towns has been the Wolves best player this season and has been the main reason for their turnaround this season.
All-NBA Third Team
G: Devin Booker
Booker has been the Suns best player all season. His numbers (26 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game) are some of the best in the league, the Suns have the best record in the league (by a lot), and he has been the most healthy star on the Suns this season. All that leads to my All-NBA vote.
G: Donovan Mitchell
Mitchell has had a monster season, 26.1 points and 5.4 assists per game. Every time the Jazz have needed an offensive stabilizer over the past few years, Mitchell has been the guy. He is the best player and Utah needs to get him help.
F: DeMar DeRozan
DeMar, or DeMVP, was having a huge season and while he has cooled off a little he still has the Bulls in a spot they have not been in since 2015. Averaging a career high 28.0 points per game (along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists), DeRozan has been the Bulls best player all year.
F: LeBron James
The Lakers have not been the team some expected, and have been a lot worse than what everyone expected and while James is to blame for some of it, his play is not. James has missed a lot of time and the Lakers record is bad but that does not change the 30/8/6 he has averaged this year.
C: Rudy Gobert
Gobert is one of the best defensive players in the league, if not the best. He is not a great offensive player but his defense makes up for it. His 15.4 points, 14.6 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks have him on one of my All-NBA teams.
If I had a vote this would be my ballot for All-NBA teams, and as always remember if you are going to put someone else on, you have to take someone else out.
